In this ongoing class learners will be reading graphic novels that are centered around diverse characters living through unique life experiences. These books will also include people of various races, ethnicities, disabilities, cultures, genders, sexualities, and much more. My hope is that this class will be a learner led space where learners get to share their thoughts and opinions which will shape how our class discussions are carried out. - Students will get to explore characters of various identities with a range of different experiences. - Students will get to participate in discussions with their peers surrounding current and past events and issues in history related to the books. - Students will get to socialize with peers. - Students will voice their opinions and thoughts in a safe environment.
Homework Offered
Learners must complete all reading prior to coming to class! The whole graphic novel is to be completely read before class.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
