In this ongoing class, students will learn different elements of writing fiction. Students will practice these elements of writing while building together in Minecraft.

**To participate in this class, students will need to have Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition (Students need to have a Microsoft account to play on Xbox, PS, or Switch). I have a bachelor's degree in writing and journalism. I worked as a journalist for over five years and won several awards during my career. I have taught in homeschool co-ops and taught my own children to read and write. Before changing my degree to writing, my study focus was on education. I have always been a lover of books and it brings me joy to share that passion with others. I play Minecraft with my family on a daily basis, so I will have the ability to play right along with the kids during class time.
Students will need to have Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition (PC, Xbox, PS4, iPad, etc...). This class is NOT compatible with Java. They will also need to be able to interact in Zoom and play Minecraft at the same time.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
In Minecraft, while students will have the ability to kill various mobs, the game will be set to peaceful, so students will not be required or encouraged to kill mobs.
