Description
Class Experience
What will be taught? Learners will learn about line, pattern, and color by creating a mug shape that they will add pattern and color to complete. What topics will be covered? This class will cover a variety of lines, patterns, and how they are created. Learners will then apply what they know about color to add their own color choices to complete their work. How is the class structured? We'll begin the class by reviewing what learners already know about lines and how they are used to...
Learners will create artwork using line, color, and pattern while having the opportunity to socialize and sip cocoa with each other.
None
-A mug of cocoa to drink while we work -Paper -Pencils/erasers -A black Sharpie marker (the thicker the point, the more the heavy line will show up. In a pinch, a black oil pastel or crayon can be used) -Crayons or oil pastels (A wax-based medium will work best) -Watercolor paints -Brushes and a water cup
Learner success will be assessed by their completed artwork and in-class discussion.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Learners will be handling potentially messy materials. Parents may wish to supervise if they allow their learner to use a Sharpie. Learners may want to use a cup with a lid for their cocoa, to avoid accidentally putting their paintbrush in it.
