Description
Class Experience
Take your Spanish to the next level! This class is for students who have taken some Spanish and want to apply Spanish vocabulary and grammar in context. Sometimes students take Spanish classes and the focus is on vocabulary and grammar drills, but students are more likely to retain and recall if they use what they have learned to read and speak the language. This class is a low stress way to help students become more comfortable interacting with the Spanish language. Each class will begin...
Students will be able to apply Spanish vocabulary, and determine the meaning of words and phrases as they are used in a text.
I have taught middle and high school Spanish since 2006. I am a certified Spanish and English teacher in the state of Florida through 2024. I have a BA in both Comparative Literature (study of cultural expression through literature) & Spanish Language and Literature from Hamilton College. I lived in Spain with a Spanish family for half my junior year and attended El Instituto Internacional in Madrid. My mother’s side of the family is from Honduras so I was raised in a Spanish speaking household filled with traditional food and culture. I earned my Master of Science for Teachers in Adolescent Education from Pace University. I am also a Professor of Education at Valencia College. I authored, Get Between Your Teen and the Screen, and co-authored the interactive student guide, Dream, Create, Activate: Create Your Master Plan to Discover and Fulfill Your Dreams. I love teaching Spanish!
