1st Class: After introductions, we will read the book Grace for President by Kelly DiPucchio. Then we will discuss key elements in the book. Voting age, can a President be a female?, campaign promises, working hard and other topics the students find of interest. The students will have homework: each will design their own campaign poster, campaign slogan and 3 promises of things they plan to do as president. 2nd Class: Learners will take turns presenting their campaign to the class. Depending on the number of learners, this class may go over the 25 minutes (also depending on the number of questions they have for one another. They will be reminded to be POLITE to one another.
Learning Goals
Students will learn about voting, campaign promises, trying their best, popularity and a bit about the electoral college.

Parental Guidance
Please try to steer your children away from any super-controversial topics as they develop their campaign. I am all for free discussion, but these are children and different families have different viewpoints.

External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
