Brain Break: Listen and Draw Music!
In this one-time course, students will explore different pieces and genres of music, while drawing what they hear. Music has different moods, textures, and sounds, that children will creatively illustrate on paper.

This class is designed to be a relaxing brain-break for students, and to allow students to express themselves artistically and musically. Each class will begin with discussing different types of music each student likes to listen to, and the class "playlist" will feature that appropriate genre. Music has different textures, sounds, and moods that students have to use their imagination, and illustrate it on paper. At the end of the class, we'll discuss what we drew for each musical example, and how the art correlates to it musically. No prior experience or knowledge is required!

Hi everyone! My name is Tayler Kochan, and I am so excited to meet you all in class! Teaching is a large passion of mine! I currently teach PreK-6th grade General Music in New York State, and teach private voice, vocal coaching, piano, and guitar lessons as well. I also perform frequently throughout my community!
I attended Nazareth College in Rochester NY for my bachelors degree in Music Education and Musical Theater, and my masters degree in Music Education, with a certificate in autism. Throughout my career, I have taught students from K-12th grade.
I love teaching people, and helping others develop new schools. I truly believe that music is meant for everyone!
