In this 4 week class we will form short consonant - vowel - consonant words (CVC). We will practice sounding out and blending each sound together to form "pancake words". We will work on writing these short words.

This class has a FLEX class schedule, meaning that this class will not meet for live sections. Instead it will "meet" through posts on the Outschool platform. Posts in the classroom will include pre-recorded lessons, announcements, assignments, and communication between the teacher and parent/learner. Learners will be able to use their letter id/sounds to form and blend short CVC words. Learners will work on sounding out when reading and writing skills. They will practice listening and following directions.
I have master's degree in elementary education and was a full-time kindergarten teacher. I also have been teaching on Outschool for over a year now. This class is very similar to my "Letterland Blending" class. I am no longer able to teach that class on Outschool, but this class will be taught in the same format and learning goals achieved. Learning to sound out and blend consonant - vowel - consonant words is the start to any young learner's reading and writing. Mastering this skill will help provide a strong foundation to build future skills. I have taught this lesson many times live and online. I will make learning fun :)
