Class Experience

Do you like to know how things work? Have a great idea for an invention? Come join certified teacher Mr. Lipton in this fun and interactive one time course, where students will learn about some famous inventors and engineers and do a little inventing of their own!

Students will learn about famous inventors and engineers like Lonnie Johnson, Thomas Edison, Patricia Bath and Ole Kirk Christiansen and how their inventions made a big impact on the world. From there, students will learn about the engineering design process which is a series of steps that engineers use to help them solve problems and design solid solutions. Students will then be given time to create their own inventions or engineering project using everyday materials or even things they find in their recycling bin! At the end of class students will have the opportunity to share their creations with their classmates.

Cameras must be on for the entirety of the class.

All learners must be enrolled students; if two learners are sharing a device, both learners must be enrolled per Outschool policies.

SEG does not do last minute transfers, after the limited cancellation period has expired.
