Class Experience

In this course, students will actively participate in advancing their knowledge of the ukulele, by beginning to play and learn new songs.

Students will actively rehearse and practice various skills throughout the lesson. My teaching style is supportive. I use a combination of technique practice and song playing to further the skills of each individual student. I do a combination of modeling, playing together, and then playing individually to check each student's technique. I believe that all my students can succeed in playing the ukulele!

Prerequisite: Students should be able to play: C, G, F, Am, D. Students who have completed my 6-week introduction to ukulele class, my 4-week beginning ukulele class 1 and 2, or private lesson students who have earned their yellow belt are ready to take this course. Please email me if you have questions about your child's level.

Week 1: Review C, G, F, A minor, D, and Strum Patterns
Week 2: Play: "Counting Stars", Learn A Major
Week 3: Review A Major and "Counting Stars, Learn E minor
Week 4: C, G, F, A, D, A minor, E minor review, and Orange Belt Test
