Folding napkins is a great way to get kids involved in meal preparation during the holidays. It is a project that requires skill and creativity and guests will be wowed by these beautiful, individualized place settings. In this interactive one time class, learners will make a beautiful set of folded napkins. We will create a beginner level folding called "The Bowtie". The learners must have the following supplies with them to participate fully in the class: - A set of 4 square cloth napkins (handkerchiefs also work well for this project. ) - Napkin holders (they do not all have to be the same) - accessories such as ribbon, pipe cleaners, beads etc that we will use to embellish our creations. During class, the learners will have the opportunity to observe the fold. They can work alongside me as I demonstrate, or they can watch and then receive guidance as they try the fold. Since they will have 4 napkins, they will each have 4 opportunities to practice this fold with and/or without embellishments. Please note: depending on how much time the learners spend embellishing their creations, they may not complete all 4 napkins during class. You know your learner best - please be available nearby to assist if needed during class time.
Learning Goals
Learners will be able to complete the napkin fold taught with some assistance.
