Basic shading of a sphere with a graphite pencil
Class experience
I will be conducting this class via Zoom. This class will last approximately 30 minutes. We will be learning how to draw and shade a sphere to make it look 3D. The materials recommended for the class are a graphite pencil ( I use General's Layout pencil extra black No.555, a sheet of paper (drawing paper is best, but computer or print paper will work), an eraser, and a stump or tortillion. If the last item is unavailable, participants can use a q-tip or a piece of tissue.
Students will improve their drawing ability and increase their awareness of how items are drawn in 3D.
I have been teaching elementary and middle school for many years and have a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Factors and Architecture.
Materials that would be helpful would be: Generals layout pencil, extra black, no.555 Drawing paper Stump or tortillion, Eraser (kneaded or hi-polymer) All items may be purchased at Michael's, Hobby Lobby, JoAnn's or on-line from Amazon.
