Description
Class Experience
Students will learn about pathogenic fungus, monocultures, genetic diversity, pandemics, current scientific research, and how to smash bananas at an age appropriate level.
I studied and researched infectious disease at Emory and Harvard Universities. I have a Bachelors of Science in Anthropology & Human Biology with a double in Biology. I love teaching students about disease, especially when it's as silly as banana pandemics!
Don't waste the banana! Use it to make banana bread or another fun recipe.
Students have the option to destroy bananas at the end of class. Please put them in a place they can get messy and give them safe tools to smush bananas. I recommend you make banana bread afterwards.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
