Class experience
This class will spend four wonderful weeks exploring how math relates to art by drawing our way through the aniMATH kingdom! Week One - Safari Math Art: We'll learn some important tricks that mathematicians use to draw a circle (without any special tools), and then we will use our new skills along with some interesting patterns to create an apollonian elephant gasket drawing! We'll also learn how randomness can help us draw a "wacky" grid to create more natural looking zebra stripes and...
Students must bring either blank white (computer/printer) paper or an artistic sketch pad (paper must be unlined), pencils for drawing, as well as a good eraser, ruler and any colouring supplies they would like to bring (pencil crayons, felt markers, sharpies, etc). A copy of the week's slideshow will be presented to students at the end of each lesson.
