This is a live experience as students will interact with the teacher through the entry level skill of adding integers.  This class will be for review or advancement as I will instruct what skills to practice for supporting development in algebra skills. The teacher will provide a  instruction, guided practice, group practice, opportunities for questions, and performance with a target score of 8/10 or higher.   

As a resident of Kona, on the Big Island of Hawaii, I will bring some basic knowledge of Hawaii integrated in my lesson.  We will look at pictures of Kailua Kona, and other features of my adopted hometown.   

One forgets math content if one does not practice.  Adding and subtracting are essential to understand all aspects of algebra. 
 Adding and subtracting are all around us with money, cooking, and sharing.  Practicing math is critical to developing skills in algebra.  Also, when one practices, other critical thinking skills are improved.  Adding positive and negative integers is the foundation of problem solving skills.  Using the transitive property - facts to reach a logical connection or comparison - developing skills in adding positive and negative numbers will help with developing problem solving skills other content areas of your life.
