This class is for beginners and was requested by students that want to learn how to illustrate on-trend shoes that will complete their fashion looks. Because illustrating shoes can be tricky, the teacher will demonstrate the steps for illustrating various kinds of shoes. Students will practice sketching techniques with the teacher. Shoes will be illustrated on a croquis (body template). Students will have homework. Class 1 1. Learn to illustrate flat/casual shoes (girl body template; feet are forward). 2. Learn to illustrate platform and dressy shoes (girl body template; feet are forward). Homework- sketch outfit with "new" shoes. Class 2 1. Learn to illustrate flat/casual shoes (woman body template; one foot forward and one side view) 2. Learn to illustrate platform and dressy shoes (woman body template; one foot forward and one side view) ] 3. Share sketches with class.
Learning Goals
Students will:
1. Learn steps for illustrating shoes when feet are facing forward.
2. Learn steps for illustrating shoes when one foot is facing forward and the other has a side view.
3. Be inspired to continue illustrating shoes.Other Details
Supply List
The teacher will provide a handout and croquis (body template). Handouts will be needed at the beginning of the class. Students will need to have/purchase: 1. Colored pencils or markers 2. 2 sharp pencils with erasers
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

I love fashion and I began offering fashion design classes for my sewing school students in grades 6 and up, 3 years ago. I quickly learned that my younger students wanted fashion classes too! I then created a class for grades 4 and 5 and redesigned it a year later, for students in grades 2 - 4.
