A 3 Pointer Not like Basketball But A 3 Point Speech
Public speaking can seem overwhelming. It doesn't have to be. Three point speeches are easy to master, especially when you learn how to do it in a FUN environment.

Everyone should be confident speaking to a small group of friends or to a large audience of strangers. For many years I was apprehensive about speaking in public. Looking back at it, the reason I lacked confidence was because of how I learned to give a speech. Like many of you, it was in a speech class in front of 15-20 people with a teacher that "graded" me on many criteria. It was not fun!! I think learning should be fun. Therefore, learning how to give a speech should be fun too. That's...
After participating in this course Learners will be well on their way to being confident when speaking in front of small groups or large audiences. They will understand the importance of the 3 part speech
Yes homework will be assigned. There will be 2 assignments given in preparation for Day 2. One assignment will be to teach 3 adults the 3 components of the 3 part speech. The other assignment will be to prepare a 3 point speech for the next class meeting. The speech should on any subject the Learner is passionate about and be less than 90 seconds. FUN topics will be encouraged. The homework is expected to take no more than 30 minutes. Since Learners will be encouraged to speak on a topic they are knowledgeable of and passionate about, writing a full manuscript will most likely not be necessary. I want the preparation and presentation to be FUN!!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Each Learner will receive an informal positive assessment on day 2. I will give each Learner positive feedback about their speeches and their participation in the activities during class. The idea is to have fun and encourage Learners to speak in public.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Parents, please allow Learners to teach you the three part speech. Make it fun. They are going to look forward to teaching you this fun method of speaking.
