Students will be able to identify place value and understand that a digit in one place represents ten times what it represents to its right. 
Student will be able to use their knowledge of place value to correctly round whole numbers to any place.
Students will be able to recognize and develop patterns in shapes and numbers that follow a rule.
Students will improve their fluency in adding and subtracting whole numbers.
Students will learn to identify factors, multiples, common multiples and common factors.
Students will be able to interpret a multiplication equation as a comparison and compute the equations.
Students will be able to accurately multiply a whole number of up to four digits by a one digit whole number.

When I was in school, I fell victim to math phobia and believed I was "bad" at math. Now I pride myself on meeting students where they are at and building their confidence to see they can learn any concept. I have experience in traditional 3rd and 4th grade classrooms teaching math and have seen first hand the difference in student achievement when they build confidence in themselves. This creates a life long love of learning which is even more valuable than the specific skills they will learn in my classroom.

Homework Offered
Students will complete workbook problems in and out of class to solidify understanding of concepts discussed in class. Students may also be required to view short video lessons outside of class and respond to class discussion boards.
1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
I will informally assess all students on an ongoing basis. A letter grade and tests can be provided upon request at the beginning of the quarter. Parent conferences can be arranged upon request.
