Is your learner struggling with Math or in need of extra practice? In this weekly meeting, learners will meet to review and practice Math skills from the 4th-grade & 5th Grade curriculum. The instructor teaching this course has more than 10 years of experience teaching Math. The curriculum used will be created by Inspire Creativity Academy. The curriculum was created and updated to follow the common core standards for the Fourth grade by a professional curriculum creator. This class will be instructed as follows: * Brief introduction at the beginning of class * Multiplication review and drill * Lecture *Assignment Towards the end of each lesson, learners will be asked if they have any questions. The goal of this class is to review skills but students are encouraged to ask questions and work through each problem. Students will need: * worksheets provided (optional) * pencil or pen Week of October 16th & October 23rd Week 1-2: Place Value and Number Sense Understanding place value of whole numbers Reading, writing, and comparing numbers up to 1,000,000 Rounding numbers to the nearest ten, hundred, and thousand Week of October 30th-November 6th Week 3-5: Addition and Subtraction Developing strategies for addition and subtraction Mental math techniques for addition and subtraction Word problems involving addition and subtraction Week of November 13th-November 20th Week 6-8: Multiplication and Division Multiplication using various strategies and algorithms Division using different methods and approaches Multiplication and division word problems Week of November 27th- December 4th Week 9-11: Fractions Understanding fractions, fractions on a number line Comparing and ordering fractions Adding and subtracting fractions with common denominators Week of December 11th- December 18th Week 12-14: Decimals and Money Understanding decimal place value Adding, subtracting, and comparing decimals Real-life applications involving decimals and money Winter Vacation: December 25th-January 7th 2025 Classes will resume January 8th Week of January 15th- January 22nd Week 15-18: Measurement and Conversion Measurement of length, mass, volume, and time Converting between different units of measurement Solving measurement word problems Week of January 29th- February 5th Week 19-21: Geometry Identifying and classifying shapes and angles Understanding perimeter, area, and volume Geometric patterns and symmetries Week of February 12th- February 19th Week 22-24: Data and Statistics Collecting, organizing, and interpreting data Creating and reading various types of graphs Analyzing and drawing conclusions from data Week of February 26- March 4th Week 25-27: Algebra and Patterns Identifying and extending patterns and sequences Introducing basic algebraic expressions and equations Solving simple algebraic equations Week of March 11th- March 18th Week 28-32: Review and Assessment A comprehensive review of all topics covered Practice assessments to prepare for end-of-year evaluations Remediation and extra help for struggling students Week 33-36: Enrichment and Real-World Applications Applying learned concepts to real-world situations Group projects and presentations showcasing mathematical knowledge Encouraging critical thinking and creativity in solving mathematical challenges Blooket: Blooket will be used to assess each learner's progress. Parents can request a full report. Blooket can be accessed through the link provided by the teacher in the Zoom chat. Learners do not need to create their own accounts to play.
