Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Nikole, and I absolutely love writing stories and playing video games. Reading is also a passion of mine, and I believe that everyone is a reader-- they just haven't found the right book yet! 📚
I have worked with children ages 3-18 for over 15 years, and I have been teaching online for nearly 5 years. I have a bachelor of science in Information Technology, and I’ve taken several masters level classes in elementary education with a focus on digital learning.
I design classes, curriculum, and educational materials with the LEARNER in mind, not just the end goal or state standard. I continuously walk through each step of the lesson as a learner and ask myself: Is this accessible? Is this learner-friendly? Was the learner given all of the necessary skills and materials to complete this part of the lesson? And finally: does the lesson meet the objective/standard/overall goal?
I am a certified ELL instructor, and all of my curriculum is created for both native English speakers as well English Language Learners (ELLs). Each and every lesson includes additional scaffolding and modifications, and additional assistance is available upon request. Many of my lessons and curriculums also include a technology free option, so that learners aren’t required to complete activities and lessons using a digital device.
I am so excited to meet your learner in the classroom!

Class policies:
1) If a class is small or there is a lot of discussion, we may end a little earlier or a little later than scheduled. I will make it a point to end on time as often as possible-- your time is valuable!
2) If a scheduled class does not meet minimum enrollment, I will reach out before class to either offer a transfer to a different class or, depending on the class, offer to teach the class with fewer students.
3) Classes will begin on time, even if all the learners are not yet present in the classroom.
4) If there are no learners present in the classroom, I will wait 10 minutes into the scheduled time before exiting the classroom. This applies to both group classes and private tutoring. I will contact absent learners after class to discuss makeup classes/rescheduling.
5) I expect all learners to be respectful of others in the classroom. Learners who are not respectful and cause undue disruption will be removed from the classroom, and I will follow up with the learner and parent after class to discuss expectations and next steps.
