Join a qualified academic mentor on the exciting (and perhaps daunting) journey through the college application process!

*TLDR: These tutoring sessions are completely customizable. Come with specific questions and meet just once, or create a consistent schedule. Together, your student can learn about the types of colleges and university programs available to them, narrow down a list of potential schools, consider all of the attributes of those schools including cost, distance, size, values, etc. and be guided through the preparation of ALL application materials: emails to request letters of recommendation, the personal statement, supplemental essays, scholarship essays, etc. They will also learn time-management skills and gain a sense of confidence in their ability to make well-educated high-stakes decisions.

With these tutoring sessions, the student can be guided through the process of identifying a list of colleges and universities that are the best fit for them and will develop application materials that allow them to stand out as applicants. There is so much information out there on American colleges and Universities, and it is extremely difficult to sort through what is truth, what is relevant, and what should be a non-negotiable. Navigating the process alone is nearly impossible.

With mentorship, the student won’t simply read a list of colleges and pick out those that have their desired major – they will discover what truly matters to them in a potential school. In our tailored sessions, students will be able to ask questions, learn from each other, and build momentum as they approach their high school graduation.

These tutoring sessions will be designed specifically to ensure that students have every resource at their disposal and feel qualified to make this major life decision.

This process is as much about self-discovery as it is about college applications. Let’s make this challenging yet exciting journey a little bit smoother, together!

(If you have any questions on what these sessions can cover/what the format is, please reach out. I have an example syllabus from when I did these tutoring sessions as a group course that I am happy to share!)

Hello! I am a traveler, public health researcher, athlete and educator excited to teach your student on any of the following topics: chemistry, public health, medical anthropology, introductory weight lifting and exercise, and the daunting but exciting journey through the college application process!

I have two degrees, one in chemistry and the other in medical anthropology (Feel free to ask me what medical anthropology is!!). I currently do public health research at a university, studying infectious diseases and health policy in the US.

I have two kittens (Gracie & Gooseberry), I love to bake, and teaching is both my hobby and passion!
