Our mission: Inspire kids to love learning

The world is changing fast so it’s harder than ever to predict what kids will need in the future. Inspiring a love of learning – the motivation and confidence to learn new skills and knowledge as needed – is the most important output of education.

But the current system prioritizes other adult needs and legacy ideas of what kids should know. We stand with learners and prioritize inspiring them, partnering with parents and teachers who share our mission.

Our Vision: The Global School

The Global Marketplace

Every kid is unique, with needs that change with time. We re-imagine school as a global marketplace that provides an unprecedented variety of learning journeys.

Customized and Flexible Journey

Through this massive variety, The Global School provides every unique kid with the right personailized and flexible journey to increase their love of learning

The Global
Standard

We will become the global standard for families to supplement education or as an alternative to traditional schooling.

Our Values

We value learning by doing, using startup methods, which inherently means embracing risk and change.

We look to the future rather than holding onto the past. We are positive, bold and resilient to setbacks. We hone our craft by trying new approaches and learning together.

We value scaling to grow our impact for many more learners.

Achieving scale requires building a large, profitable, global business to enable our mission for the long-term. We use our scale to better understand, and sustainably serve, the broad and diverse needs of all learners.

We value disrupting the status quo in service of our mission.

The status-quo education system is unacceptable to us, so we are willing to embrace challenge, discomfort and even controversy in service of fast progress. We make hard decisions, take ownership and bias towards action.

Leadership Principles

1
Company first

We put Outschool’s success ahead of individual or team preferences. We make choices that serve our mission and long-term goals, even when they’re hard.

2
Biased To Action

We move quickly and learn as we go. We favor progress over perfection and avoid overthinking. We embrace change, adapt fast, and support one another through it.

3
Opinionated

We speak up and bring clear points of view. We make decisions, set priorities, and take thoughtful risks. We stay open to new information and are willing to change our minds.

4
Engaged

We show up with focus and intention. We stay connected to our work and our teammates, holding ourselves and each other to high standards. We care deeply about the quality of what we deliver.

5
Determined

We don’t give up when things get hard. We push through challenges, learn from setbacks, and stay committed to long-term goals. Our resilience raises the bar for all of us.

6
Hands On

We take ownership and step in where needed We understand the details, and remove obstacles to keep things moving. We do the work, not just direct it.
