US Grade Kindergarten - 2
Beginner - Advanced Level
What will be taught/topics covered? Each week learners will focus on three letters of the alphabet. Each vowel sound will be taught for two weeks as vowels have similar sounds and are in the middle of each Consonant Vowel Consonant (CVC) word. Students will name the letters, write the letters and say the sound(s) of the letters. Each week will also include a game or activity to teach the following foundational prereading skills: first sound fluency, phonemic segmentation fluency, or blending two or three phonemes. How is my class structured? This class is perfect for English Language Learners, Homeschoolers & those needing extra help with the alphabet, letters, sounds, handwriting, and prereading skills. Meet new friends while learning letters and prereading skills. Then work at home on the week's skills with provided activities until the next week. How will I teach/what's my teaching style? My teaching style is direct instruction. This means I will introduce the activity and model it before having the learners perform the activity on their own. How much will learners get to interact with me? The class is structured for active participation, games, call and response, and slideshow presentations.
