🤘 Are you ready to master your multiplication facts? 🤘 Our class provides students with an immersive experience, as we use multiple learning differentiations to ensure all abilities are met! Math should be embraced by students and teachers with excitement, versus anxiety and fear. Our class brings forth the joy of what multiplication can be through the use of various techniques. Remember, not every child learns in the same manner! Whether your student is homeschooled or attends traditional school, what makes our class different is the use of online platforms. We utilize technological advances in two forms: Nearpod and Kahoot. ❓What is Nearpod and Kahoot?❓ Nearpod is a website in which the teacher will utilize for our mini lesson of the day! Not only is Nearpod used for a means of teaching our lesson, but students have the ability to use it for practicing the learned material in real time. Nearpod is a free website that can be used on with the mobile app or computer! All students will need is to enter the PIN code provided by the teacher each day we meet. :) As for Kahoot; it is another free website that students will use as a fun way to play brief rounds of their learned math skills (specifically geared towards what multiplication fact was taught that day). Think of Kahoot as extra practice but with peers! Similar to Nearpod, students will be given a Kahoot PIN code provided during our class! Some days we’ll have extra time to play a round, whereas other days we may not. It will really depend upon if students need additional clarification of our facts that day! 🧠 Everyone has a different learning style, and retains information at various rates! In this class, we breakdown multiplication fact families one number at a time (numbers 0-12) to ensure we do not rush the process. Our multiplication facts will vary in order in which we will cover them. For instance, we want to begin with the easiest multiplication facts first, before we attempt to master the harder ones! If we began with the harder facts, not only will it affect our mentality about multiplication, but our overall demeanor when it comes to learning mathematical facts. Remember, this class is meant for you to master multiplication and to fall in LOVE with math all the more! 🧠 As we dive into the easier multiplication facts first, it will better prompt eagerness when switching into the harder facts. The goal is to understand our fact families by utilizing mental math skills to push our boundaries without the use of a multiplication chart, pencil or paper! In class we also use the added reinforcement of playing a Kahoot game to reach every learning style, and to simply seal in information learned in an interactive way! 🧠 My teaching style is student centered! I am an open book allowing students to ask questions along the way. It is important to me that students are all on the same page before we move onto the next multiplication fact family! I look forward to meeting your student in our next class! --------- ℹ️ Our Class Information ℹ️ --------- 🌻 In our class, the teacher will provide practice worksheets. At the end of each meeting, I will attach multiply practice worksheets to our "Classroom" for reinforcement. Students are not obligated to complete the practice worksheet after each class meeting but they are HIGHLY encouraged to do so. 🌻 Additional information and papers will be attached prior to the class start date for families and students! As with every class I teach, please feel free to reach out with questions you may have. My turn around time in regards to emailed responses are within 24 hours (even on weekends)! --------- Q & A's --------- How long does the course last? - This class meets four times for one week, each meeting lasts for 45 minutes (total of four meetings). What is the level of difficulty? - The class difficulty is for beginners or those who are simply struggling with retaining their multiplication facts. Our class demonstrates how to mentally calculate our facts families ranging from 0 - 12, beginning with the easiest fact families and moving onto the harder numbers. We understand that issues may arise! A range of issues could form including but not limited to class difficulty (too easy or hard), technology complications, class/teacher is not a good fit, etc. When problems arise Outschool utilizes their Happiness Guarantee, which provides families with refunds when contacted directly.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their understanding of Multiplication Fact Families ranging from numbers 0 - 12. What they learn in class will better prepare your student with multiplication problems beyond the number 12.
