This is an ongoing small group math tutoring and social game club. Students can enter and leave at any time. This class will use the Florida State standards for instruction. Prodigy is a math adventure game where your student will take on the role of a wizard who uses math to cast spells. In this game, players explore a fantasy world where they complete quests, take part in magic battles and collect in-game "Pets". To progress, students must answer standards-aligned questions set by their teacher. Students will choose the math we will work on. Teacher will demonstrate different ways to play the game during the class. We will also play the game during class. We will have cooperative play and students will work together during class time in the game to complete tasks. We will also have teacher challenges where students will battle the teacher with math problems. Each week the students will choose what they want to work on. Students can also suggest club activities for the group to complete such as Math based art/ writing projects. After each class I will put in a weekly challenge for all students to complete in Prodigy.
