US Grade Preschool - 1
Beginner - Advanced Level
What will be taught/topics covered? Join this class anytime, it will repeat every 7 weeks. The content doesn't build on each other because beginning learners need lots of repetition, so feel free to join and leave the class whenever it best suits your learner. Each Day learners will learn/practice: -Saying the sounds of the short vowels and consonants -Blending nonsense words, and words from the word family of the day -Phonemic segmentation fluency and spelling words from the word family of the week -Rhyming, final sound fluency, or middle sound fluency How is my class structured? This class is structured for homeschool families that want some support teaching their child how to read. It would also be a great extra practice for those in public, private or charter schools that need extra help with, blending, reading and phonics. It has a mixture of games, activities, listening and focused learning to help children build their attention span. Meet new friends while learning how to read. Then work at home on the week's word family with a provided list & suggested activities. How will I teach/what's my teaching style? My teaching style is direct instruction. This means I will introduce the activity and model it before having the learners perform the activity on their own. How much will learners get to interact with me? The class is structured for active participation, games, call and response, and slideshow presentations.
