Antavius Ellison is a Georgia native, performing artist, choreographer, leader and educator. His work includes regional theater, musical productions, television and film, national commercials, music videos, as well as live stage performances.

Antavius has had the pleasure of working with Tony award-winning directors and world renowned choreographers. He has shared collaborative experiences with music artists including SZA, Hozier, Interpol, Aluna, Half.Alive, etc. His work expands beyond his dance performance capabilities, extending his artistry as a choreographer and creative director.

His work can also be seen within youth communities around the world, as he has been educating the youth in school-based settings, dance studios, virtual classes and
workshops. Antavius's dance background incorporates an array of dance genres and
acting-based methods, building a new and approachable visceral movement language,
using his art to empower people, communities and societies altogether.
Open Workout Space: Our class requires an open and clear workout space free from obstacles or hazards to allow students to move freely and safely during dance activities.

Proper Footwear: Students are required to wear appropriate footwear, such as sneakers or dance shoes, with non-marking soles to provide traction and support during movements. Open-toe shoes or bare feet are not permitted for safety reasons.

Water Bottle: It is recommended for students to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the class, especially during intense physical activity. Hydration is essential for maintaining energy levels and preventing fatigue.

Adequate Stretching: We emphasize the importance of proper warm-up and stretching exercises before dance sessions to prevent injuries and promote flexibility. Students will be guided through a series of stretching routines at the beginning of each class.

Injury Prevention and Supervision:

While hip-hop dance is a fun and energetic activity, there are potential risks associated with physical movements and dynamic choreography. Without proper supervision and adherence to safety guidelines, injuries such as sprains, strains, or overuse injuries may occur.

Our experienced instructors are trained to provide close supervision, correct technique, and monitor students' movements to prevent injuries. We encourage open communication between parents, students, and instructors to address any concerns or modifications needed for individual safety.

By following our safety recommendations, including maintaining an open workout space, wearing appropriate footwear, bringing a water bottle, and engaging in proper stretching, parents can help ensure a safe and enjoyable learning environment for their child. Together, we can promote a culture of safety, preparedness, and fun in our hip-hop dance class!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
We prioritize the safety and well-being of our students in every aspect of our hip-hop dance class. It is crucial for parents to be aware of certain safety measures and considerations to ensure a positive and injury-free experience for their learners.
