課堂經歷

Embark on a historical quest into the depths of language in this enthralling class that bridges the past and present. We'll decode everyday slang, tracing its roots back to the 'berserk' worlds of the Vikings, the strategic minds of the Romans, and the scholarly pursuits of the Greeks. Along the way, we’ll learn about these cultures' histories. We'll unravel the linguistic tapestry that has woven words like 'Bluetooth,' expressions such as 'your ears are burning,' and the names of the months into the fabric of our speech.

Through engaging storytelling, we will explore how the romance of Roman culture, the Norse myths, and the Greek philosophies have left indelible marks on the words we use. Our journey through language will reveal the transformation from ancient symbols to modern communication, offering a peek into the everyday sayings that have stood the test of time.

We'll dive into the Roman calendar, uncovering the celestial origins of our week—how the sun and moon gave us Sunday and Monday, and how Roman gods lent their names to the rest. Then, we'll follow the linguistic voyage to the shores of England, where Germanic tribes adapted these names, infusing their own gods into the week and thus reshaping the English language.

Our exploration will not stop with just days and dates. We'll dissect idioms and phrases, peeling back the layers of time to understand their true essence. This class promises engaging discussions and thought-sharing, sparking curiosity about the words we use subconsciously.

And what's history without a little challenge? Our adventure will culminate in a spirited Kahoot competition, allowing learners to test their newfound knowledge in a fun, competitive setting. This game will not only reinforce the lessons learned but will also bring an element of joy and camaraderie to the educational experience.

So come along as we set sail on this grand voyage through history, where learners will become linguistic archaeologists, digging up the fascinating stories behind the words we speak. It's not just a class—it's a time machine that uncovers the rich, interconnected world of our linguistic heritage.

父母的引導和規範
The study of world history encompasses a wide range of topics, including some sensitive subjects from the past such as war, slavery, racism, religion, and genocide. In this course, it is important to approach these topics with sensitivity and respect. Religion will be discussed solely in its historical context, focusing on its influence on societies and events throughout history. The aim is to provide learners with an understanding of how religion shaped various civilizations without promoting any particular religious beliefs. To foster a comprehensive understanding, learners will be exposed to multiple perspectives through the use of peer-reviewed and scholarly sources. Critical and reflective thinking will be encouraged, allowing students to analyze historical events, conflicts, security issues, religious influences, and economic factors from different angles. Discussions in the classroom will be closely moderated, ensuring a balanced and unbiased approach. The teacher will facilitate discussions, encourage participation, and monitor the conversations to maintain a secular standpoint that respects all viewpoints. When relevant, viewpoints from marginalized groups will be explored, providing a broader understanding of history from different social, cultural, and ethnic perspectives. This approach promotes inclusivity and helps learners develop empathy and a deeper appreciation for diverse experiences. Great care will be taken to present the content in an age-appropriate manner, ensuring that the material is accessible, respectful, and suitable for the maturity level of the learners.
