I’m excited to invite you to a warm and engaging online book club designed just for gifted boys in grades K-2 who may be reluctant readers. My goal is to inspire these young minds through easy-to-read chapter books while using fun critical thinking strategies to explore the stories together. We’ll explore a new chapter book filled with adventure, humor, and memorable characters. These carefully selected books will capture the interest of reluctant readers, featuring engaging plots and relatable themes. Important Note for Parents Please ensure your child has read the book before each class meeting. This will help spark great conversations and ensure everyone is on the same page! Inferential Questions: Encouraging deeper comprehension by asking questions that require us to read between the lines. Creative Thinking: Brainstorming new ideas and perspectives related to the characters and events. Evaluative Questions: Rating different characters, plot twists, and themes. These activities will help us connect with the characters, understand the themes, and imagine how the stories could unfold differently. Signing your reluctant reader up for this book club is a fantastic way to ignite their love for reading. Your child will develop critical thinking skills in a supportive environment. This is an opportunity for them to connect with peers, share their thoughts, and discover the joy of reading in a fun and relaxed setting. I can't wait to see how much they will grow and enjoy the experience!
