Through laughter and imagination, they’ll discover how to let go, break down barriers, and build confidence—all while having an absolute blast! This beginner-friendly class is the perfect starting point for curious learners, first-time actors, or anyone wondering, “What even is improv?” Add creativity, joy, and active engagement to your learner's schedule. Shake off the screen-time blues and unlock their potential to craft dynamic narratives across a variety of genres. When your learner enrols in this Boundless Reach improv course, they aren't just signing up for a valuable skills-building class; they're stepping through a gateway to storytelling, problem-solving, and pure, uninhibited play. In this fast-paced, hilariously ridiculous introduction to improv, your learner will discover that mistakes aren’t failures—they’re opportunities. Those “oops” moments often spark the most surprising and rewarding laughs! With a focus on quick decision-making, collaboration, and exploring their boundless creativity, they’ll learn to take risks, build confidence, and find their voice. Each class begins with an energizing warm-up (make sure they have room to move!) and a group game to get the ideas flowing. From there, we dive into core improv skills with fun exercises that explore active listening, making and accepting offers, character creation, and imagining unique settings. Finally, we end with your learner’s choices: a lively competitive sports-style theatre challenge or a group activity. In either case, everyone gets a turn. Class Overview: Week 1: Introduction & Association – Building trust and connecting ideas through acting games. Week 2: Making and Accepting Offers – Creating short scenes through collaboration and active listening. Week 3: Characterization – Using voice, body, and imagination to bring characters to life. Week 4: Settings – Mastering stagecraft to create invisible worlds and make the impossible visible. Week 5: Scene Structure & Storytelling – Transforming simple scenes into big, captivating stories. Parental Guidance
I make best efforts to avoid politics and religion but sooner or later a student will cast him or herself in the role of a religious leader or famous politician, or set a scene in a church or the Whitehouse etc. This is drama and make-believe and it is important to the process to let their imaginations open up. That being said, while I maintain a safe zone of inclusivity for all faiths and ideologies, hate speech, prejudice or cyber bullying will not be allowed and parents will be notified.

Teacher expertise and credentials
1 teacher has a Bachelor's degree
Bachelor's Degree in Fine/Studio Arts from Ryerson University
I have been a professional actor in film and television for many years. I've travelled to exotic shoot locations, won awards, was a lead on five different television series. But none of that is what makes me a good drama teacher. So what do I think makes me a good drama teacher? Marvel. I never cease to marvel how much the techniques I learned in theatre school as a kid still help me to this day. I never cease to marvel when a child "gets it" and comes up with a new idea and is overcome with joy and pride simultaneously. This is the "magic" you hear us talk about all the time in theatre. And I am ever humbled by it. As our children spend more time in front of the computer, I strive to give them a chance to experience that magic.
