Beginner Level
Students will learn American Sign Language vocabulary as we read and sign two book about the unconditional love a parent has for a child. Students need no prior experience or knowledge. Students will be shown individual pages from each book. I will read each page and teach the signs one page at a time. I'll show and explain hand signs and repeat for greater retention. Class lengths are 17-21 mins. It is my joy to share ASL as a second language and to help bridge the gap between hearing and Deaf communities. Come sign with me!

Learning Needs
ASL helps students with ADHD and autism by reinforcing vocabulary. Research has shown incorporating sign language with spoken language improves comprehension, expression, and communication for special education learners.

I have a Bachelors of Science in Biology with an Environmental Studies minor. I am a former public school teacher of 5 yrs and homeschool teacher of 10 yrs. I completed ASL I, II, III, & V in college and interpret for a Deaf family in church. I am also a 200 hr certified Yoga Teacher with additional certifications in Kids Yoga, Mommy Me Yoga, and Prenatal Yoga.
