In this ongoing class, students will be learning to draw a cool cat and use different drawing mediums each week to stylize it. We will break down the cat into simple shapes and then refine our drawing. Drawing techniques will cover shading, highlights, mark making, texturizing, blending, and rendering as needed for the specific project. Join our class anytime! Each week will be a new cat and I will demonstrate all the techniques needed to make your drawing cool! Need a one time class? All the cool cats will be available as one time classes too! Lessons will be in a "work with me format" with visual and audio step-by-step instructions. I will show my finished work at the start of class as an example along with the supplies needed to create it. Art freedom and fun will be emphasized in a relaxed setting. Students will be encouraged to add their creative personal touches to their work. I will offer a sharing event at the end of the class and/or I will encourage students to upload their finished work to the classroom after it dries to share with me and their art friends. Use only non-toxic, child-safe drawing mediums/supplies.
Supply List
Drawing pencil set. Gum eraser. Hard eraser. Charcoal pencil. Drawing paper. Colored pencils. Sharpie Black Marker (Fine Point). Colored markers. Other drawing mediums will be listed in the classroom as needed for specific projects. The above list should cover most of the classes. When needed we can make do with on hand art supplies. :)

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Hello art friends! I'm Ms. Michelle. I'm offering directional and expressive art projects for young learners. I'm an artist with my education in Fine Art. I believe whole heartedly in the Montessori philosophy. I owned Montessori schools for years and I've taught art to thousands of preschool and elementary students in person and online.
Art has always been my happy place where I can be myself, share experiences, and enjoy friends. My art classes will help students practice fine motor skills, follow oral and visual instructions, improve art skills, and express themselves through creativity and social classes.

*Late to Class Policy - If you’re more than 10 minutes late, I reserve the right to not admit you into class. This is a significant interruption in the process of creation for other learners. If there’s another time for the class, I’ll offer a transfer. If there’s a schedule conflict, please msg me for a transfer before class. No refunds for late arrivals. I appreciate your consideration.
