Grades Offered
Learners are expected to have access to their own copies of the following books from The Chronicles of Narnia by CS Lewis. These can be in print, digital, or audio format.

"The Magician's Nephew"
"The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe"
"Prince Caspian"
There won't be any external sites accessed by students in this class. All visual presentations, such as powerpoint slides, will be provided by the teacher via standard screen-share.

The overarching theme of the Narnia stories is the triumph of good over evil and the importance of friendship and sacrifice. There is hopefulness throughout, but dark elements do exist. The various stories may contains elements of deception and misuse of power. There are occasional descriptions of battle scenes, death, and menacing creatures. Parents are encouraged to verify that the books are suitable for their learners. I welcome any messages with questions or concerns.

NOTE: In accordance with Outschool policy, we will not be specifically examining any Christian allusions or allegories found in the work, outside of a general acknowledgement that Lewis' personal faith often informed his writing. This will be noted as a point of literary interest rather than an examination of the theology behind the various literary allusions found in these works.
