Your young musician will leave this workshop with a springboard for their piano journey! They'll grasp the basics of reading music, including understanding rhythmic notation (quarter, half, and whole notes). Most importantly, they'll be able to confidently play a complete song - the iconic "Ode to Joy"! This accomplishment will set the stage for future piano success.

Hi everyone! My name is Sarah, and I believe music should be a fun and engaging journey for everyone, regardless of background or experience. Here's how I make that happen:

👉 Focus on Fun: Learning an instrument should feel like joyful exploration, not a chore. I tailor lessons to your interests, using songs and styles you love to keep you motivated.

👉 Play what you want to play: Forget rigid programs! I use your favorite songs and styles as a foundation for building skills and understanding music theory.

👉 Develop strong technique: While we're having fun, I'll also ensure you learn proper technique and build a solid foundation for future growth.

This approach, honed through my own experience, has helped countless students of all ages discover their musical potential.

Qualifications & Experience

👉 Experienced vocalist: With over ten years of classical training, I have a deep understanding of vocal technique and a passion for sharing that knowledge.

👉 Academically accomplished: I hold a 4.0 GPA from the University of British Columbia, where I majored in Voice and minored in Applied Music Technology.

👉 Award-winning musician: My dedication to music has been recognized with scholarships like the Phyllis Taylor Scholarship and the Elizabeth Lamberton Scholarship in Voice.

👉 Multi-faceted musician: Beyond voice, I'm skilled in piano (with RCM exam experience) and music production. I also love exploring songwriting!
