How does the solar system hold up its pants? ***With an asteroid belt!!!*** I love outer space, and no matter how old I get, I still enjoy discovering new things about it. This 4-part space camp takes the students on a deep-sky dive into our solar system. They will learn about and discuss the 8 big planets (4 terrestrial and 4 gas), the 5 dwarf planets, and the different possibilities of meteoroids, asteroids, and beyond. I like telling jokes to get and keep the kids involved in the conversation during lessons. I will always encourage an educational discussion and promote curiosity with the students. I will lead the discussion but will also ask their thoughts on what we're learning throughout the class. Whether it's a one-on-one class or a group environment, my number one goal of every session is to inspire a love of learning new things. I will issue a Blooket game after every class (no student account needed! 😉), which is always optional, but always encouraged. Classes will be around the 45 minute mark, but sometimes we go over if there's a lot of questions. 😊 1st class: terrestrial planets (Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars) 2nd class: gas/ice planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune) 3rd class: dwarf planets (Ceres, Pluto, Haumea, Makemake, Eris) 4th class: comets, asteroids, meteoroids
Learning Goals
The main goal of this class is to launch a lifetime of space curiosity for these students. Students will discover new details about the planets, their moons, and star constellations.

Sources
If relevant to the discussion, we may refer to NASA's website (solarsytem.nasa.gov) to try to locate where particular spacecraft are in the solar system. This is a fantastic website for students to explore. It is very informative and has "kid friendly" sections for younger minds to better understand.
