Class structured:
Sharing our progress each lesson would be a great way to share and encourage each other as we learn new skills. Learners are invited to bring along whatever they are currently working on and show their classmates what they're doing. I will have several ongoing projects to hand to demonstrate on camera different techniques to learners.

How will I teach:
I will teacher using my visualiser, showing learners how to complete each type of stitch and invite them to copy and consolidate the skill until they can progress to the next step. I will be able to tailor teaching to each individual learner - showing different techniques on different projects to ensure every learner progresses.

My teaching style:
I believe it is important to know each individual well, their needs and their next steps, so while showing the skills and techniques on the visualiser I will deliver the support required by each learner. I would encourage discussion and motivations in class, inviting learners to share their knitting, crocheting and crafting goals, and offer any additional assistance in class and through the Classroom upload facility to help learners meet their goals.

Learner-Teacher Interaction:
We will interact constantly on camera. I have a visualiser and learners are welcome to use their own visualisers or reposition their cameras to share their looming work. As well as discussing our technique, what we are finding tricky and how we are improving, we will discuss our motivations, how crafting can be so useful, charity, the value of homemade gifts. Online quizzes about knitting, textiles and textile history are also a nice addition to classes.

Learning Goals

Each learner will be supported in creating a hat, cowl, scarf and/or a pair of mittens, or combination of these, alternatively a homemade card or other project they may choose. Learners will be supported in moving onto new crafts and skills thereafter.
