The supplies that are recommended:
Polymer Bake Clay (any brand you prefer. I like to use Sculpey III).
*In total, approximately 1/2 of a 2oz. brick is plenty!*
Whatever colors you want for your dragon. At least one main color and an accent color.
Note: I often use Translucent polymer clay for wings, but you can use any color you wish.

Basic Sculpting tools: Something for smoothing pieces together, rolling, cutting, and a toothpick for indenting dots.

A Baking sheet covered in parchment or aluminum foil

A non stick surface to work on (You can cover a piece of cardboard with parchment paper and tape it to the bottom…that works)

OPTIONAL: Clear water based glaze for after baking

**Polymer clay requires baking according to the package direction. (Generally ~275 °F, depending on your brand of clay). You may do this after class. Parental help is necessary.

Hi There!
I'm Lori...a graduate of F.I.T in NYC. I've worked in different areas of the design industry since 1991, from illustration, pattern making, garment construction to designing full story boards for buyers. I tutored Fashion Illustration for a few years to help other students complete their professional portfolios before their interviews. Besides getting creative, I LOVE animals! I have quite a few furry little beasts. Right now, my profession is Graphic Design, but fashion illustration and design is still what I do when I need to unwind from technology. I believe that once you learn the basics of how to get that creativity out of your mind and onto paper, you open up a whole new world, being able to share and build on your talents.

They/Them
As an alumni of Cleveland Institute of Art with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Game Design they have a passion for interactive art and how they can push the boundaries of what interactive art means. Having been a visual arts assistant at their old high school Interlochen Arts Academy during the summers, teaching others and seeing the joy in what people create has motivated Rori to pursue teaching. In their free time Rori likes to aquascape. Creating aquariums of any variety of sizes and making little beautiful habitats for their favorite type of fish a Betta fish, they currently have 2 bettas and 4 tanks.

She/Her
Throughout my career in education, I have developed a strong foundation for fostering creativity and critical thinking among students. I have had the privilege of designing and implementing art programs that engage learners and inspire them to explore their unique artistic voices in many afterschool programs since 2019. My extensive experience across various mediums—such as painting, yarn and needlework, jewelry making, and digital arts—has equipped me with the versatility to adapt my teaching methods and cater to diverse learning styles.

*Teacher Jonathan
I have been working in the design/visual arts world for the last 6 years. From designing websites, to doing personal commissions, art is something I’m very passionate about. I had the chance to live in New York for the last 3 years, and had the opportunity to visit world-renowned museums and galleries such as The Met, MoMA, Guggenheim etc. I also curated an Art Gallery with over 200 artworks from local artists in upstate NY. I’m thrilled to bring my experience to these lessons and share that enthusiasm with my students.
