Beginner Level
*Hello! I have returned from a Hiatus and am taking students again! Please check out my new schedule openings! I am glad you are considering this class! I have a kindergartener of my own, and he is responding very well to the instruction I have provided! Please, let me take a few moments to go over what will be covered in this class. All kindergarten students should know a minimum of 50 words by the end of the year, but 100 is ideal. Through interactive and engaging slide shows which I have created, the student is likely to remember all 100! Simple homework assignments will be given to reinforce the words learned, and to help the student retain this information. I will simultaneously be introducing one syllable words to the students, beginning with CVC words, and possibly beyond if the student is advanced. Other goals for your child throughout the duration of this class will be as follows: recognizing and producing all letters and sounds of the alphabet, reading from left to right and top to bottom, using picture clues and predictions to aid comprehension, and recalling and retelling details from the story. I try to keep class moving, with additional practice, games, stories, incentives, and any creative tool I can muster to keep their attention! This class and this age is so fun to teach! I hope to see your child soon!
Learning Goals
The student will learn all kindergarten sight vocabulary words and one syllable words.
