It is a MUST that students already know how to write the following essays: book report, opinion piece, compare/contrast, and persuasive. We will briefly recap how to write each of these, but we will not go in-depth. "Lord of the Flies" by William Golding "Night" by Elie Wiesel “Romeo & Juliet” by William Shakespeare “Fahrenheit 451” by Ray Bradbury “Animal Farm” by George Orwell
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Sensitive material: 1. "Lord of the Flies" by William Golding includes hunting, child deaths, and murder. 2. "Night" by Elie Wiesel deals with death and the Holocaust. 3. "Romeo & Juliet" by William Shakespeare deals with teen romance and suicide. 4. "Fahreheit 451" by Ray Bradbury uses language such as "damn" or "God damn." 5. "The Outcasts of Poker Flat" by Bret Harte has two suicides in it. 6. "The Short Happy Life of Francis Mocomber" by Earnest Hemingway deals with hunting and murder. 7. "The Yellow Wallpaper" by Charlotte Perkins Gilman is about mental disorders (specifically postpartum depression and a mental breakdown).
