German Spelling and Writing Class for Advanced Learners

This class is for learners with an advanced skill level in German, e.g. Native Speakers, learners who have lived some time in a German-speaking country, learners who have had German as a Foreign Language in a (home)school setting. If you are unsure if your learner is advanced, please contact me before you enroll in this German Spelling and Writing class to avoid disappointment. Danke!

This is a self-paced class, so there will be NO LIVE meetings. The learner will unlock videos on different aspects of German spelling rules with tasks that can be handed in through the Outschool classroom for me to give feedback in the self-paced version of this class.

This German Spelling and Writing Class for Advanced Learners is beneficial for those who would like to take their German skills to the next level: Reading and Writing (more) complex texts in German. Learners may anticipate a stay in a German-speaking country, a test (such as Deutsches Sprachdiplom), or they would like to write their own texts in German.

The typical German spelling class can be structured as follows:
- Greeting
- Presentation of an example sentence/word through slides/Edpuzzle/Nearpod
- Problem solving (slides)
- Rule making (slides)
- Tasks and Games (PDF, Edpuzzle, Nearpod)

As interactive video resources such as Nearpod and Edpuzzle are used in this class, learners will need to sign up in order to receive feedback from the teacher. However, you can also use the links and do the tasks independently without signing up for Nearpod or Edpuzzle. This is entirely up for parental discretion. Feedback from the teacher is available for the self-paced, non-subscription version of this class only.

These are the topics of the German Spelling and Writing class:

Upper case and lower case
Vowels
Consonants
Compound words
Word groups - Verbs and Adjectives
Punctuation: The comma
Loanwords/Foreign words

The class will be entirely in German, so learners need to be able to understand German at an advanced level to follow and to benefit from the class.

I am a Native German Speaker with a Master's degree from Germany who loves to learn and teach languages.
