They are drawn into a mystery involving a newly acquired sculpture, even as they learn about themselves and the world around them. We will meet once a week to discuss this book, answer questions, and share the children's thoughts on the book. At the beginning of class, we will go over the assigned questions. Learners will grow in their reading comprehension abilities, vocabulary, and communication skills as they read From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler. We will discuss themes, plot, decision making, attributes, and more.
Homework Offered
Before each class, the children will be asked to read a few chapters (about 40 pages), answer 5 questions, and be prepared to present information on a connection, setting, vocabulary word, or character.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
