Homework
1 hour per week. Homework for this 1/2 Semester Health Curriculum (ages 8-12) will involve Nutrition, Food Science, Hygiene, and Fitness. Examples include researching healthy meals, hygiene experiments, fitness journals, and reflections. Assignments will be given weekly on Google Drive. Completion is optional but feedback will be provided if students choose to hand in their work. Students are encouraged to complete as many assignments as possible for a better learning experience.
Assessment
While assessments are not mandatory for all students, those who wish to receive grades and be evaluated on their progress are encouraged to complete the assessments. However, the final decision to participate in assessments and be graded lies with the individual student.
Grading
Grades will be offered when students complete their weekly work

The course will be presented using dynamic canva presentations, ensuring an enriching learning experience. Additionally, you can expect to receive weekly activities and handouts, conveniently uploaded to a shared Google Drive, to enhance your understanding and engagement with the material.

My expertise lies in the fields of nutrition, food science, hygiene, and fitness. I have a Bachelors of Science Degree in Applied Human Nutrition and my Major is in Dietetics and have had the opportunity to conduct extensive research in these areas. 

Goals for the Semester:
By the end of this course, my goal is for you to have a comprehensive understanding of the importance of nutrition, food science, hygiene, and fitness in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I want you to be able to make informed decisions about what you eat, how you take care of your body, and how you can incorporate physical activity into your daily routine. I hope to inspire you to adopt healthy habits that will benefit you not only in the present but also in the long run.

I am excited to embark on this educational journey with you and look forward to an interactive and enlightening semester.
