Advanced Level
Study with an experienced chemist with a Ph.D in Organometallics with instruction at the university-level. WIth guidance at the most advanced levels, topics in this custom-built, conversational and model guidance geared toward organic and inorganic chemistry. Your learner has likely successfully completed AP Chemistry or is involved in academic chemistry programs like ICho and ChemWOOT. Expect deeper, complex topics including: atoms, chemical bonding, calculations, periodic trends, inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, kinetics, molecularity, spectroscopy. Subtopics include: alkane’s, functional groups, isomers, enantiomers, R/S nomenclature, reactivity, carboxylic acides, amines, polymers, sterochemistry. Advanced chemistry is not just for those interested in chemistry, it is critical to the success of anyone interested in medicine, engineering, and environmental science. By mastering these concepts, you will be prepared for participation in highly specialized chemistry competitions like IChO and USNCO competitions. WHAT TO EXPECT Guidance and instruction: how fundamental concepts are brought forward to providing tailored support based on your specific needs, whether you're struggling with concepts, reactions, or problem-solving techniques. Confidence of your Conceptual Understanding: grasp of fundamental concepts such as structure, bonding, functional groups, reaction mechanisms, and stereochemistry and the ability to have a conversation using the language and concept of chemistry. Application of Practice: work through various insights, possibilities, and problems to apply concepts to theory and demonstration of understanding. This includes activities like writing, drawing, writing, and model building. Improve your essential skills for organic chemistry like ideation, logic thinking, and critical thinking. Study Strategies: effective learning and study techniques and resources to help you build an interconnected set of knowledge specific to the art of organic chemistry. Exam Preparation: Focused sessions on preparing for college entrance exams, interviews, standardized tests, science competitions, tests, quizzes, and labs can help improve your confidence and performance. Benefits of Tutoring 1. Confidence support network: we will be by your side available via message and video conversation on the OutSchool tools 2. Enhanced Comprehension: Individualized attention helps clarify complex topics. 3. Confidence Building: Regular sessions can boost your confidence in the subject. 4. Flexible Scheduling: Tutors often offer flexible hours to accommodate your schedule. 5. Supportive Learning Environment: Get help in a low-pressure setting where you can ask questions freely.

Dr. Michael Blanchard completed his PhD at the University of Tennessee. He spent his time discussing the use of Lewis acids, Ziegler-Natta catalysis, and working to scale processes for efficiency. Before his PHD, Dr. Mike studied forensic sciences. There, his passion for the interdisciplinary work of chemistry began. From cooking to building to living in the world around us, Dr. Mike's passion is sharing how we are all connected to the study of chemistry. It was the development of the specific fields of chemistry that awarded him Adjunct Professor at Warren National University. He quickly discovered that his passion for sharing and connecting knowledge was the point which learners' owned a solid conceptual foundation and were at the crossroads of deeper diving topics, such as organic chemistry and beyond.
