💥 For more scheduled classes, please scroll down to “Show Alternative Times.” This is a class for students who love pottery - making, looking at and collecting it. One of the most intriguing things we'll learn is why the earliest pottery of ancient Egypt is more exquisite than the pottery produced later in ancient Egypt's history. We'll cover the following in this 55-minute, fast-paced class: 𓂀 Why do we now use BCE and ADE in discussing dates from ancient times? 𓂀 What's...
Students will learn several important things in the pottery class. 1. The most important archaeological terms associated with ancient pottery, in general. 2. How to appreciate pottery-making as a functional, decorative and ritual art form. 3. The basic steps in making pottery, especially in prehistoric times when pottery was one of the earliest inventions in the world. 4. Specific characteristics of ancient Egyptian pottery during specific historical periods.
I hold a Certificate of Museum Studies from Harvard University and, in June, I will receive my Diploma in Egyptology for a one-year program from Oxford College in England. And I’ve been to Egypt three times on personalized, educational tours. As a certified school substitute, I make the day more enjoyable - if it works out - by bringing an ancient Egyptian object into the classroom, whether I'm teaching language arts, social studies, science, consumer economics, art or even Native American studies. I've been captivated by ancient Egypt since I was 10 years old. And I feel it's my destiny to share my enthusiasm for and expertise on this beautiful and brilliant 5000-year-old civilization with all of you. I hope to see you soon for a class. I think you'll agree that The Egyptian Room is an attractive, fun and inspiring place to learn. And, please, if you like, call me Ms. Sennuwy - my chosen ancient Egyptian name.

Assessment will be informal. Upon enrollment, kids will download a file with a short, fun pre-lesson quiz before the class. Afterward, I will ask some questions from that quiz to see what students have learned or retained.成績が提供されます
