このクラスで学べること
Preschool through early elementary school aged children will explore a variety of exciting themes and practice early learning skills as we practice making new friends and working together. This class will be your young learner's daily dose of fun, with a prefect side-helping of essential skill-building. Learners will be introduced to each class with our daily welcome song, followed by an assortment of gross motor activities to help get our wiggles out. The movements can help calm any nerves your child may have as well as excite them for the class. Next, children will dive into the weekly theme (listed below) through read-aloud stories, pictures, journaling, song and dance, conversation and hands-on activities with arts and crafts. Some classes will also engage in social-emotional learning as we talk about our own feelings and emotions. Children will engage in social skills through questions and answers about the weekly topic and sharing what they already know. We will also introduce children to group games, scissor skills, making patterns, and becoming good listeners through routine and play learning. At the end of each class, children can participate in our goodbye song, hopefully leaving them with anticipation for another fun day with friends! This is an introductory course specially created for Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten (PreK) students. The subject matter will be adapted to suit their educational and developmental level. Students will learn through a variety of approaches, such as read aloud selections, informative slides and graphics, drawing, building and sculpting, movement activities, short video clips, interactive games, discussion, repetition, dramatic play and more. **PARENTS / CAREGIVERS: Because this class is designed for Outschool's earliest learners, I strongly encourage you to remain with your child during our session. Outschool policy requires that you keep your face off-camera as much as possible, but you should plan to remain close by your child during class. It makes a tremendous difference at this age to know that a parent is nearby to help with understanding directions, with emotional confidence, understanding how to ask questions or answer questions, getting supplies that are needed, etc. If you cannot remain with your child during this class, please reach out so that we can be sure it is a good fit for your particular child's temperament and abilities.** This is an ongoing class that meets every week, but you can jump in (or out) any time you want! We can't wait to meet you!! 2024 Theme Schedule: (subject to change per teacher discretion and will be updated in the classroom) Week of 1/8 -1/12 - All About Me Week of 1/15-1/19 (no class 1/15) - All About Winter Week of 1/22-1/26 (no 1:00pm class 1/24) - Nutrition Week of 1/29-2/2 (no class 2/2) - Transportation Week of 2/5-2/9 - Space Week of 2/12-2/16 (no class 2/16) - Community Helpers Week of 2/19-2/23 (no class 2/19) - Colors Week of 2/26-3/1 - Five Senses Week of 3/4 -3/8 - Forest Life (No 1pm class on March 6) Week of 3/11-3/15 (no class 3/15) - Weather Week of 3/18-3/22 - All About Spring Week of 3/25- 3/29 - Safety (ex: fire, tornado, construction, at home such as cleaning supplies, wear a helmet when riding your bike, etc) ~No class the week of 4/1-4/5 ~ Week of 4/8 -4/12 - My Body Week of 4/15-4/19 - On The Farm Week of 4/22-4/26 - Bugs Week of 4/29-5/3 - Life Skills Week of 5/6-5/10 - Science (ex: solid/liquid/gas, opposites, etc) Week of 5/13-5/17 - At The Zoo Week of 5/20-5/24 (no class 5/24) - All About Summer Additional sections and themes TBD.

From Miss Ashley: I have always loved to work with young children! Ever since I was a kid, I was very creative in coming up with unique ways of expressing myself. That uniqueness carried over into my adult life, and that is what brings me here today! I love being a part of a child’s yearn to learn and I believe that learning is always fun. I’m a mom to two amazing kiddos, both currently in elementary school. Before having my kids, I had 7 years experience in working with children primary-aged through elementary school. I was an assistant Pre-K teacher followed by working at various summer camps through my local Parks & Recreation department. I’ve worn many hats throughout life but my favorite one is being a mom. I love my wonderful husband, my amazing kiddos, my 3 crazy cats, sewing and gardening.
