Jasmine lived in Japan for over fifteen years and is a Japanese language teacher on Outschool. She has a successful ongoing club on Outschool, KOI POND, that has been wildly popular amongst her students with over 200 classes to date. KOI POND is a place for her students to come together to learn more about Japanese culture and language. Many students have continued in this highly informational club for nearly four years. While Youkai Quest is not a Japanese language course, students will encounter many Japanese words and concepts that Jasmine-sensei will explain.

For an online class about Japanese Youkai, students should prepare a few essential items to enhance their learning experience:

Internet-Enabled Device: Students will need a computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone with a stable internet connection to access the virtual classroom and participate in activities.

Headphones or Speakers: To hear the instructor clearly and minimize background noise during discussions and multimedia presentations.

Note-taking Materials: Whether digital (like a note-taking app or document) or traditional (pen and paper), students should have tools ready to jot down key points, vocabulary, or questions.

Optional: Webcam: If the class involves interactive sessions or group discussions, having a webcam can enhance participation by allowing students to engage face-to-face with peers and the instructor.

Curiosity and Open Mind: Encouragement to explore and engage with the fascinating world of Japanese Youkai. Being open to learning about new myths, stories, and cultural perspectives is essential.

Respectful Participation: Students should be prepared to engage respectfully with classmates and the instructor, contributing to discussions and activities in a positive manner.

By ensuring they have these items ready before the online class begins, students can fully immerse themselves in the exploration of Japanese Youkai and make the most of their learning experience.
