This is an ongoing essay class which focuses on constructing and writing 6 paragraph essays, which includes an introduction, a conclusion and 4 main idea/details paragraphs. Students need to be able to come to class with a topic, 4 main ideas, and 4 details about the main idea. The first class a student comes to, I will work with them on the process and evaluate where they need help or further instruction. Class meets once every week, but will take 2 weeks per essay. Each student will produce a 6 paragraph essay every 2 weeks, including an introduction, conclusion, and transitional sentences.
I have over 30 years of teaching experience. I am endorsed in School Counseling K-12 (Masters Degree), Elementary Education, and Special Education K-12, and I have a middle school English endorsement. I regularly worked with students on writing essays.
