Our student will become experienced in the brick and mortar of building a marvelous piece of writing.

This is a down to earth class that encourages student to work hard and think carefully.  There is no content here that would be offensive.

There are two types of homework for a workshop of this sort: either extend the draft or continue with the revisions.  After a good writing workout, a student usually knows which path is right for them.  They can usually tell which type of work is calling to them and will propel them into the next session.

In this class, we consult with the book, "Several Short Sentences About Writing" by Verlyn Klinkenborg.  Our student is not required to get this book in order to participate in this class.  We also read from "Writing Down The Bones" by Natalie Goldberg and "Writing With Power" by Peter Elbow both of which are excellent companions on our journey
