週あたり 4+ 時間. Homework is required and is assigned after each class to incorporate both the writing method and style (dress-ups). I encourage students to go through a process given in class as they complete their homework, and then they will submit their final papers to me.テスト
I will return papers with both positive and constructive feedback, not a letter grade. Students will be writing from a checklist, so students and parents will know exactly what is required for each assignment.評価

This is the second class of a 2-part course on writing using the Wonders of Science thematic writing curriculum from IEW. By taking both the Part 1 and Part 2 classes, students will cover most of the lessons in the book. ------------------------------------------------------------- Continue your focus on writing while learning about science. Expand on what you learned in the Part 1 class by learning how to summarize multiple resources, create research reports, write essays, and begin papers on analysis. Because this curriculum is sequential and builds upon a structure, we will cover the last 4 IEW units (6-9) in this class. Each week during class, students will interact with the teacher and other students to practice building on writing skills through modeling in the required book, discussion, and/or short games. The games may use the chatbox, on-screen annotation, and verbal exercises. All activities will reinforce the concepts of both writing style and writing structure. Throughout these lessons, we will be playing with words to "dress-up" our writing, using descriptive adjectives, strong verbs, adverbs, sentence openers, figurative language, vocabulary, and more to add interest. Lessons & Structures covered will include: Week 1: Nikola Tesla (introduction to writing from multiple sources; fused outlines) Week 2: Albert Einstein Part 1 (fused outlines; very short sentence openers) Week 3: Albert Einstein Part 2 (fused outlines; works consulted page) Week 4: Favorite Inventions Part 1 ("writing from the brain" body paragraphs; clausal sentence openers; clauses) Week 5: Favorite Inventions Part 2 (introduction and conclusion paragraphs) Week 6: Albert Einstein Part 3 (assembling a 5 paragraph essay; subject and -ing sentence openers) Week 7: A Prominent Scientist Part 1 (research report) Week 8: A Prominent Scientist Part 2 (research report) Week 9: George Washington Carver (writing an analysis) Week 10: George Washington Carver (writing an analysis) Vocabulary and literature suggestions will be given so students can use these to connect to their writing. No prior experience with IEW is required.
