It's helpful if your learner already knows their letters and letter sounds. Sight words will be taught or reinforced, depending on the needs of the learners. We will make "worms" out of soft clay and fashion them into sight words. This reinforces the learner's fluency with the word in a tactile way. They will also need a dry-erase board and marker to practice the written words. A surface that clay won't stick to like a plastic place mat would be helpful too.
