Students will learn about the 588th Night Bomber Regiment, known to the Germans as the Night Witches The topics covered will be as follows: 1)Marina Raskova and Stalin-birth of the regiment 2)Using old style planes 3)Treatment from their male counterparts 4)Their tactics 5)Why it was so hard for the germans to fight them 6)Defense of Vladikavkaz 7)The liberation of Novorossiysk 8)The battle of Pronya River 9)The Vistual-Oder Offensive 10)Disbandment in 1945 11)Heroines of Russia 12)Total war records 13) Notable members My class will be structured along the timeline that the Night Witches were in service to the Soviet Military. I will teach using a mixture of documentary clips, discussion, images and slides. My teaching style can be described as interactive. Learner will get to interact through discussion, video clips and slides. No required knowledge needed.
